Welcome to Wolverhampton Chess Club, where we welcome players of all levels — from complete beginners to seasoned competitors. We offer a friendly, supportive environment for social play, competitive matches, and chess improvement.

 

About Us

 

We play socially, run inter-club events, and participate competitively in the following leagues:

 

• BDCL Division 1: BDCL Website
• WDCL Divisions 1 & 2: WDCL Website

• CDCL Divisions 1 & 3: CDCL Tables

 

How to Join

🎉 Social Membership - £15/year

 

You can pay by one of the following methods:

• Cash:
  Payable on club or match nights to Phil Bull or Rajeev Raghavan

 

🏛 44 Club Membership - £20.50/year

 

Since we operate from the 44 Club, their membership fee is £20.50, payable every January. This is separate from your chess club membership.

 

Competitive Chess & ECF Membership

 

To play in rated league matches and competitions, you'll need to be an English Chess Federation (ECF) member. Membership information and registration are available here: Join the ECF
